SRHSS Certified Nursing Assistant Training Program is a State of Illinois approved eight week course designed to prepare the student for employment as a Certified Nursing Assistant in a variety of healthcare settings.  Upon successful completion of the course the student will receive a certificate and will be eligible to take the State of Illinois Written Competency Exam.

Admission Requirements:

• Minimum 16 years of age

• Interviewed by SRHHS faculty

• Criminal Background Check

Course Requirements:

• Attend 80 hours of theory

• Attend 40 hours of clinical in a long term care facility setting

• Successful completion of 21 manual skills

• Successful completion of final examination

Course Schedule:

• 8 week course

• 4 days per week

Course Objectives:

The student will demonstrate a basic understanding of:

• Resident Rights

• Communications

• Infection Control

• Body Mechanics

• Emergency Procedures

• CPR Certifications

• Alzheimer's Disease and other related Dementia Care

3. A $250 deposit is required prior to entering class
